WOODWORKS

This is an adaptation of a table I saw in Boulder.  The one I saw was made of Teak,
but with the Ipe deck I had to go with more Ipe.  The circle is about 52" dia., the legs
are 4 x 4.  This was the most complex thing I've ever tried to clamp up, even before
I cut it into its round shape, the inside slat design was tough without an extra pairs of hands.

I call this the sunrise chair, the sun does not rise onto the deck but the
back of the chair does look a bit like a sunrise.  This is an adaptation
of a design I saw in an outdoor furniture book.

Here is a shot of them together, in all I have 4 chairs.   So far the killer Nederland wind
has had no effect on these heavy creations.

To complete the overall "deck experience" I put these planters together.
The bulk is redwood with Ipe caps for the post detail.  The plastic pot
sits on some cross rails inside to allow for good drainage.

I'm thinking about adding a redwood or Ipe lounger this summer.
