WOODWORKS
A collection of exotic hardwood bowls.
This one is made of Goncola Alves, and is the latest off the lathe. Sarah has claimed this one for herself.
This one is figured maple and was
part of a shipment that I got to turn into christmas presents
it is the last one from that original
shipment of six green blocks.
This one is also maple but from
a shipment of "spalted maple" that I picked up just after christmas.
More spalted maple but also with a bit of "tiger" figure.
More spalted but a bit of a hollow form with edge detail.
This was my first bowl turned with
the Vicamarc Dovetatil Chuck.
This was a huge project, this was
from a 5" thick piece of Bubinga,
my first deep bowl using dried
wood.
More Bubinga here but in a shallower
design with a thick edge.
Boy was this one fun to turn, it
was turned from "green" Olive wood.
I picked up this piece at the Rockler
truck load sale. Looking back now
I wish I had picked up a lot more.
This beauty lives on my desk and holds my clips, Its Cocobolo and was turned dry.
This one is of Carob Wood, and was
turned green.
